Vision Plan Information
We accept many types of vision plans, as well. Vision plans cover vision problems such as nearsightedness, astigmatism or presbyopia (the need for bifocals). Eye infections, glaucoma, injuries, and other medical eye problems are not covered by vision insurance but are reimbursable under medical plans. There are some plans that offer medical insurance and vision coverage.
Vision coverage can be offered in any of following ways:
- Plan covers portion or entire cost of exam, eyeglasses, and/or contact lens.
- You pay only the plan deductibles and whatever the plan charges for extras, such as invisible bifocals.
- The Plan pays up to a certain amount for an exam, contacts, or eyeglasses. You buy what you want and the plan reimburses you. There are no restrictions with this plan.
- The Plan is a discount plan that pays nothing on your behalf,
but offers a discount on eyewear, which is often
substantial.
